Welcome to the reality of the Covid crisis in Florida. My cardiologist tried to admit me to the hospital but there are no rooms because of Covid. Had to go ER route. Place is a teaming and the waiting room stretches into hallways. Wait for some is 15 hours. Get the damn vaccine.

Karen Croake Heisler
Karen Croake Heisler, 67, a longtime former South Bend resident, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Orlando (Florida) Regional Medical Center due to cancer-related complications.
Born February 10, 1954, in Middletown, Ohio, she graduated from Lafayette Jefferson (Indiana) High School and then received both a bachelor's and master's degree from Purdue University in communications.
She spent a year as assistant sports information director at the University of North Carolina, then three years in a similar position at the University of Notre Dame. At Notre Dame she produced multiple athletic media guides and game programs judged best in the nation by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
After two years in communications at Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana, she joined the administrative staff at WNDU-TV in South Bend in 1984, serving two years as promotions manager and nearly seven years as program director. From 1985-87 she received seven gold medallions from Broadcast Promotion & Marketing Executives (BPME) for various small market television marketing and promotion materials, commercials, print ads and news campaigns.
In 1993 Karen joined the University of Notre Dame faculty as an adjunct professor and later became a professional specialist in the Film, Television and Theatre department, teaching courses in sports and television and the business of television for 25 years. She also coordinated the FTT internship program. The FTT Karen Croake Heisler Television Studies Award is presented annually at the Notre Dame Commencement to a graduating senior for outstanding work in television studies. She also taught journalism at Holy Cross College in South Bend.
After retiring from Notre Dame in 2018 she continued as a freelance writer and editor. Karen was a frequent editorial contributor to Notre Dame's "Strong of Heart" series and served as editor of the Notre Dame athletics annual report for multiple years. She is the author of "Fighting Irish: Legends, Lists and Lore," published in 2006.
Karen was a longtime fan of Johnny Bench, Tony Perez and the Cincinnati Reds and a faithful follower of her Purdue Boilermakers. She displayed an ardent interest in politics and was a passionate grammarian. Karen always had been a dog-lover at heart (her most recent companion is Art)—and she absolutely treasured her trips to Glen Arbor and the Leelanau Peninsula in northern Michigan.
She is survived by her husband John (Oviedo, Florida), sons Scott (Hartford, Connecticut) and Tim (South Bend) and a sister Lori Meluch (Statesville, North Carolina).
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, September 27, 2021, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road in Granger, Indiana. Visitation will continue at St. Pius at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2021, followed by a memorial mass at 11 a.m. The mass will be streamed at stpius.net and also facebook.com\stpiusgranger. ［ワシントン ２９日 ロイター］ - 米アルファベット傘下の動画投稿サイト「ユーチューブ」は２９日、新型コロナウイルスワクチンだけでなく、全ての反ワクチンコンテンツを禁止すると発表した。
ユーチューブのほか、フェイスブックやツイッターなどのハイテク大手が健康に関する偽情報の拡散防止で十分な対応を取っていないという批判に対応する狙いがある。
ワクチンが慢性的な健康被害を引き起こすという主張や、ワクチンの成分に関する偽情報などに関するコンテンツが全て禁止される。
また、米紙ワシントン・ポストによると、ユーチューブはケネディ元大統領のおいロバート・Ｆ・ケネディ・ジュニア氏ら著名な反ワクチン活動家によるサービスの利用を禁止し、複数のチャンネルが停止されたという。

ワクチン義務化で警官多数が辞職の恐れ、米国の州警官労組が訴え
米マサチューセッツ州ですべての警察官に新型コロナウイルスのワクチン接種が義務づけられたことを受け、何十人もの警察官が辞職を願い出たという。ワクチンを巡る州政府の対応を批判している同州の警察官の労働組合、State Police Association of Massachusetts（SPAM）が明らかにした。
マサチューセッツ州のチャーリー・ベーカー知事（共和党）は8月19日、警察を含め、すべての州政府機関の職員に対し、10月17日までにワクチン接種を完了し、証明書を提出することを求める知事令を発令した。
知事令によると、接種を希望しない職員が代わりにPCR検査などで陰性を証明することは認められておらず、違反した場合には、解雇される可能性がある。テレワークで業務を行う職員も対象となっていることから、他州に比べても厳しい内容だとされている。
同州の警察官のうち、およそ1800人加入するSPAMはこの知事令の差し止めを求め、9月半ばに州を提訴した。だが、州裁判所は先ごろ、この請求を却下。SPAMによると、警察官たちはその裁判所の判断を受け、一斉に辞職願を提出し始めたという。
SPAMのマイケル・シャーベン委員長は発表した声明の中で、知事令を厳しく批判。「国内で最も厳格」な内容であり、その発令によって「すでに深刻な人員不足にしている」同州警察を、さらに弱体化させることになると述べている。
ただ、同州警察の広報担当者はフォーブスの取材に対し、「ワクチン接種の義務化を理由に辞職を検討している警察官がいることは認識している」ものの、28日朝の時点で、義務化を理由に実際に離職したことが確認されているのは、1人だけだと話している。
シャーベン委員長は声明で、組合員が求めているのは、「その他の数多くの部門がそれぞれの初期対応者たちに基本的に適用しているのと同じこと」だと主張。また、「新型コロナウイルスに関連した病気を、公務による負傷（疾病）と認めてほしいだけだ」と述べている。
同州のテレビ局、WBZ-TVによると、同州の警察官のうち、まだワクチン接種を受けていない人は、およそ20%とみられる。また、ミネソタ州の総合病院、メイヨー・クリニックの調査によると、マサチューセッツ州では67.8％がワクチン接種を完了しており、知事令の影響を受ける人は、それほど多くはないとの見方もある。
