The three hotels hit were the Shangri-La Colombo, Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo and the Cinnamon Grand Colombo.

The first blasts were reported at St Anthony's Church in Colombo and St Sebastian's in the town of Negombo just outside the capital, with another reported at Zion Church in the eastern town of Batticaloa.

St. Anthony's Shrine is a Roman Catholic church in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Colombo in Sri Lanka. The church is located at Kochchikade, Kotahena, Colombo 13 (not to be confused with the town of the same name Kochchikade, Negombo), and is dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua. The church is declared as national shrine.^[2] A tiny piece of St. Anthony's tongue is enshrined in a special reliquary, which is located in a glass case together with a statue of the saint, at the entrance to the church.

The St. Sebastian’s Church, Negombo also known as St. Sebastian’s Church, Wella Veediya is a Roman Catholic church in Negombo, in Sri Lanka.^[1] It is patterned on the Reims Cathedral in France, and is built in Gothic style.^[2] Saint Sebastian is the patron saint of the city of Negombo.


Zion Church is an evangelical free church located in Batticaloa. The church is located at 34A, Central Road, Eastern Province, Batticaloa.^[1]
Zion Church was founded by Rev Inpam Moses in 1974. It is a branch of the Lighthouse Church in Kandy. The senior pastor is Rev Roshan Mahesan.^[2]
