ＡＰ通信によると、カナダ出身の人気歌手セリーヌ・ディオンさんの兄ダニエルさん（５９）が１６日、がんのため、カナダ東部モントリオールの終末期ケア施設で死亡した。セリーヌさんは１４日、咽頭がんを患っていた夫のルネ・アンジェリルさん（７３）を亡くしたばかり。

アンジェリルさんの葬儀は２２日にモントリオールの教会で営まれる。ダニエルさんの葬儀はその数日後に別の教会で執り行われる予定。（共同）

René Angélil, CM, OQ (French pronunciation: ​[ʁəˈne ɑ̃ːʒeˈlɪl]; 16 January 1942 – 14 January 2016) was a Canadian singer and manager. He was the husband and longtime manager of singer Céline Dion until his death.^[1]
Angélil was born in Montreal, Québec, Canada, to a Syrian father and a mother of Lebanese descent.^[2] He was Melkite Catholic and studied at College Saint-Viateur (high school), in Outremont and at College André-Grasset (post secondary), in Montreal.
