日本の女子大学生がルーマニアで殺害された事件で、犯行に至るまでの経緯が、次第に明らかになってきている。逮捕された男は、いわゆる「闇のポーター」の1人だった。
ルーマニアの首都ブカレスト近郊で、東京の聖心女子大学に通う益野 友利香さん(20)が殺害された事件。
警察による検視はすでに終わり、益野さんの遺体は、早ければ21日にも帰国の途に就く予定となっている。
海外インターンシップ、いわゆる「就業体験」でルーマニアを訪れたという益野さん。
派遣したのは、学生らが運営するNPO団体だった。
学生らが運営するNPO団体「アイセック・ジャパン」の関係者は「現在、ノーコメントでございます」と述べた。
NPO法人アイセック・ジャパンのウェブサイトは、見ることができない状態になっていた。
外務省は、海外での安全の目安となる危険情報を4つのカテゴリーに分けて公表しているが、ルーマニアには、いずれの危険情報も出されていなかった。
しかし、ブカレスト空港の到着ロビーには、無許可で営業するタクシー運転手の姿や、ポーターのふりをして、声をかける若者たちの姿が目立っていた。
現地の旅行会社の代表は「『ポーター』という男性に声をかけられたら、絶対無視してください。もしも声をかけられた場合、闇ポーターもいますので、ご遠慮(断って)ください」と話した。
緑色の服を着た、正規のポーターではない闇ポーター。
今回、益野さんを殺害したとして逮捕されたブラッド・ニコラエ容疑者(26)も、闇ポーターの1人だった。
ニコラエ容疑者は、到着ロビーで、益野さんに「荷物を持ってあげる」と声をかけ、タクシー乗り場に連れ去った。
ニコラエ容疑者は15日午後8時半ごろ、空港に到着した直後の益野さんに声をかけ、一緒にタクシーに乗り込んだ。
そして、空港から10分ほど離れたバス停で、益野さんと降り、森の中で犯行に及んだとみられる。
現地時間の夜に空港に着き、街に出たあと、電車でおよそ3時間移動する予定だったという益野さん。
不安な胸中をツイッターで「ルーマニア着いてから、1人で深夜電車に3時間乗らなきゃだから、それが最大の不安というか何というか、たどり着けたら奇跡だと思う」と明かしていた。
海外で、若い女性が、夜1人で長距離を移動するというスケジュール。
益野さんは、海外インターンシップ、いわゆる「就業体験」で日本語を教えるため、ルーマニアを訪問していたという。
広がりを見せているという海外インターンシップ。
イギリスでインターンシップを体験した人は「主に研究職。研究者の人と直接会って話して、意見交換ができる良さがある」と話した。
財団法人「海外産業人材育成協会」では、グローバルな人材育成のため、主に開発途上国に学生や若手社会人を派遣している。
財団法人・海外産業人材育成協会の小川和久氏は「(2012年度は)約250名の学生から応募していただいた。5年前の数字は、申込者50名だったので、5年で5倍になっている」と述べた。
また、イギリスでインターンシップを体験した人からは、「よくありますね。白タク的なものを『安くするから乗っていかない?』と、夜中だとよく聞きます。黄色人種というので、ロンドンでも下町の方に行くと、卵やソフトクリームを投げられたり」といった声が聞かれるなど、安全面では課題もある。
そのため、海外産業人材育成協会の小川和久氏は「空港には、現地の受け入れ会社の方が、必ず出迎えに来ていただくことにしている。派遣前に事前研修を実施して、緊急時の連絡先等まとめたマニュアルを配布して説明している」と述べた。
今回、殺害された益野さんを派遣したのは、学生らが海外インターンシップ事業を運営する、NPO団体アイセック・ジャパン。
益野さんのスケジュールや運営の面などに、問題はなかったのか。
アイセック・ジャパンと検索すると、NPO法人アイセック・ジャパンのウェブサイトが表示されたが、全く反応せず、ウェブサイトを見ることができない状態になっていた。
取材を申し込むと、アイセック・ジャパンの関係者は「ご遺族の意向をふまえまして、本件に関して、一切の説明を差し控えさせていただきます。(先々にどういった経緯だったか話すことも、今のところ考えていない?)コメントできることはございません」と話した。
団体側は、ノーコメントを繰り返し、一切説明をしていない。

Until now, it's not been known but in the early 1950s the Pope developed some considerable ire towards AIESEC. It seems the chief Jesuit was worried that if people went on too many tn's they wouldn't be able to attend church every Sunday.

So the Pope said AIESEC had to leave Italy, and preferably all of Europe. Those Italians and Europeans who wanted to remain part of the organization should migrate elsewhere, the Pope said. Naturally there was a big uproar at AI when they received the Pope's order. Brussels thought it over and held secret discussions with a few NCs. At the behest of AIESEC India, an offer was made to the Pope. There should be a debate between His Holiness and an AIESECer. If the AIESECer won, AIESEC could stay, but if the Pope won, AIESEC would be closed down. The Pope, quite secure of his own abilities, agreed.

Since AIESECers from India had proven themselves to be the most effective arguers in AIESEC, particularly AIESECers from Calcutta, AI picked the LCP of AIESEC Cal to present their case. His name was Porus Eruch Das Munshi Prem Chatterjee, and he was half Parsi and half Bengali, a lethal combination if there ever was one. Since the Pope spoke no English and Porus spoke no Italian or Latin (only English, Bengali and Gujarti) it was decided the debate was to be conducted using sign language. It was also agreed that the debate would be in private. Now, Scribbler has been given exclusive access to the details of what transpired at the debate and how Porus saved AIESEC.

The great debate was held on May 22, 1953. Porus chose that day since its very hot in Calutta then and he thought it a good time to visit Europe. When the day of the great debate came, Porus entered the Vatican through a side door for his private debate with the Pope. He wore a La Martiniere blazer his father had given him - all in his family went to this esteemed Calcutta school - and had done a full hour of yoga to settle his mind. In his hand he carried a collection of Tagore's poems and a lunchbox filled with Mutton Dhansak. He was aware that the fate of AIESEC in Europe, nay, of all AIESEC, rested on his Bengali-Parsi intellect, and he was nervous.

Inside the Vatican's Debate Room (yes, there is such a room in there) there were two lines of priests. Those at the left of the room were clad in red, and were those who supported AIESEC. The much larger group clad in brown to the right of the room were those who opposed AIESEC. It was all very much like that scene in The Name of the Rose.

The Pope, clad in full ceremonial attire, sat in the middle, craddling his head in his palm and gazing intensely at the Persian rug on the floor.

For a full minute there was silence

Then, slowly, the Pope raised his hand and showed three fingers.

Porus looked straight back at him and raised one very tentative finger.

The Pope frowned. Then he waved his fingers in a circle around his head.

Porus considered this for a moment and then pointed to the ground where he sat.

The Pope was clearly taken aback, but he recoved and pulled out a wafer and a glass of wine.

Immediately Porus reached into his lunch box, and pulled out an apple.

At this point the Pope stood up and said, "I give up. This man is too good. The AIESECers can stay."

Vatican records made available to Scribbler reveal that when the cardinals asked the Pope what happened, this is what he said:

"First I held up three fingers to represent the trinity", the Pope said. "The AIESECer responded by holding up one finger to remind me that there was still one God common to both our religions. Then I waved my finger around me to show him that God was all around us. He responded by pointing to the ground and showing that God was also right here with us. I pulled out the wine and wafer to show that God absolves us from our sins. He pulled out an apple to remind me of original sin. He had an answer for everything. What could I do?"

Meanwhile, Porus had been rushed to AI for a debriefing. Everyone crowded around him asking what had happened. An individual present at the time recorded what he said in a diary, which has now been made available to Scribbler.

"What happened?" the NCP of AIESEC Italy asked. "Well", said Porus, "First he said to me that AIESEC had three days in which to close down. I told him even if he said we had one day to leave that would not scare us. Then he told me that this whole world would be cleared of AIESECers. I let him know that we were staying right here." "And then?", asked the crowd. "Well, then it all got rather curious, Porus said. "He took out his lunch, so I took out mine".
