He was a concert violinist and music lecturer at St Peter's College of Education, Saltley, Birmingham, and taught violin at St Philip's Grammar School, Birmingham. His wife Beatrice Edith Maud (Reece) Perfect, was a medium, psychic, and faith healer. One of their parents was an organist at Westminster Abbey.
He was the father of Fleetwood Mac vocalist Christine (Perfect) McVie. He also had an older son John.
He passed away in 1990.
