SEOUL, Nov. 9 (Yonhap) -- A special investigation team raided a hotel adjoining the site of the deadly Itaewon crowd crush and two other locations Wednesday over suspicions that its illegally extended structures made the narrow place even narrower, officials said.The investigation team sent 14 investigators to Hamilton Hotel, the home of the hotel's head and another location to seize documents on hotel management and administrative licenses, the officials said.The hotel's building ledger showed it illegally extended a 17.2-square-meter terrace on its northern side of the main building and installed other illegal structures.At least 156 people, mostly in their 20s, were killed in the Oct. 29 crowd crush on a downhill alley that runs along the side of the outer wall of Hamilton Hotel. News media and critics have pointed out the hotel's extended structures may have made the narrow alley even narrower.The hotel's head has also been booked for an investigation on charges of violating the building and road laws.After the raid, the investigation team is expected to examine whether the illegal extensions contributed to the tragedy and if so, how they contributed to it.pbr@yna.co.kr(END)

Woolworth was born in Rodman, New York to John (1821–1907) and Fanny (née McBrier; 1832–1878) Woolworth; his brother was entrepreneur Charles Sumner Woolworth (1856–1947).[1][2] His parents were devout Methodists and sympathetic to the Northern side during the Civil War, and they raised their sons in those beliefs.[3]

全米日本人メソジスト教会の母胎であるパイン・メソジスト教会は、正式には１８８６年に創立されました。しかしその起源は１８７０年代にさかのぼり、日本から米国に渡って来た、向学・求道の念に燃える青年を中心として聖書の研究、英語の勉強、又彼らのあらゆる意味での集会所であった日本人福音会に端を発し、その後幾多の軋れきと分裂を経て日本人キリスト教会が次々とうまれました。この最初のワシントンとスタックトン街角の中国人伝道所の地下室を借用した福音会時代を穴倉時代と私達の先輩は呼び、ここにその第一歩を踏み出したのです。
幸いに教会当初の歴史的記録、特に掛けがえのないこの教会揺籃期の資料は銅製の箱の中に収められ１９０６年のサンフランシスコ大地震で教会の建物は焼失しましたが、外側の黒焦げになった箱の中身は助かりました。その後パイン街二度目の教会の建物のコーナーストーンの中に大切に保管され、教会が現在の場所に新築移転のさいスタックトンのパシフィック大学図書館付属のメソジスト教会記録保管所に移管され現在に至っています。

令状なしは「違法」 覚醒剤事件、大阪地裁が押収証拠採用せず
覚醒剤取締法違反（所持、使用）などの罪に問われた男性被告（49）の公判で、大阪地裁が覚醒剤などの証拠を採用しない決定をしたことが判明した。9月9日付。佐藤弘規裁判長は、被告が滞在していたホテルの一室に大阪府警の警察官が裁判所の令状なしに立ち入ったことについて、「プライバシーを大きく侵害する違法行為」と判断した。
決定によると、2021年8月、同府寝屋川市内のホテルに被告は滞在。被告に呼ばれて客室に入った女性が退室後、過呼吸状態に陥り、外で女性を待っていた同僚が119番した。救急隊員は「女性が注射を打たれた可能性がある」と聞いて薬物の使用を疑い、客室のドアを解錠するようホテルの従業員に要請。その後、駆け付けた警察官らは「部屋に入る」と声をかけて入室した。被告は所持品検査や尿検査を拒否。警察官は捜索差し押さえ令状が出るまで約9時間、客室内にとどまったという。
決定は、警察官がホテルの管理者や被告から入室の承諾を得ていないと判断し、「プライバシーを侵害してまで客室に立ち入るには捜索令状を得るなど法令上の根拠が必要」と指摘。「令状主義を没却する重大な違法があった」として、入室後に出た令状に基づいて押収した薬物や、尿の鑑定書を証拠として採用しなかった。
被告は別の事件でも同法違反（使用）の罪に問われている。検察側は合わせて懲役4年を求刑しており、判決は14日に言い渡される予定。【安元久美子】
