REVEALED: Prince William weighed into US politics and sent letter to girlfriend of Capital Riot cop Brian Sicknick who died one day after 'harrowing' attack as he praised officers for 'upholding democracy'

• Prince William wrote letter to Sandra Garza, the partner of officer Brian Sicknick who died on January 7 
• He said Sicknick had helped 'uphold democracy' despite suffering injuries as crowds overtook the Capitol 
• Sicknick's death has been the source of fierce political debate - Democrats have routinely claimed that he was 'killed' by the rioters and it was falsely claimed at first that he was hit over the head with a fire extinguisher
• A medical examiner ruled last year that Sicknick died from two strokes but they couldn't prove whether the strokes were brought on by the riot 
• Sicknick's family maintain that he would be alive today had he not been in the riot and pepper sprayed 
• Prince William's letter breaks from the royal tradition of not weighing in to politics at home or overseas
• He has in the past refrained from wading into US issues whereas Prince Harry and Meghan are prone to it 
• Sicknick's partner revealed the letter on CNN to shame President Trump for not offering her any sympathy
• 'Trump does not give two c**ps about law enforcement or Brian and yet Prince WIlliam took the time to honor me and Brian,' she said
