新型肺炎 WHO緊急委員会、台湾は招かれず 中国以外の感染確認国で唯一 米官僚「台湾を組み込むように促す」

（台北中央社）中国で発生した新型コロナウイルスによる肺炎の感染拡大を受け、世界保健機関（WHO）が22日、ジュネーブで各国の専門家を集めて開いた緊急委員会に、台湾は輸入例が確認された国で唯一招かれなかった。米国務省のベテラン官僚やフランスの国民議会議員からは、台湾のWHO参加を求める声が出ている。

感染者が確認されている日本、タイ、韓国、米国は全て委員会に招かれた。

中央感染症指揮センターの荘人祥報道官は22日午後、台湾の専門家がWHOの委員会に招かれなかったことは「遺憾」だとし、台湾に友好的な専門家を通じて最新情報の収集に努めていくと述べた。

▽米仏から台湾のWHO参加求める声

米国務省のベテラン官僚は22日、米国はWHOに対し、台湾を排除しようとするのでなく、組み込むように促すとし、台湾はかつてWHOの一員であり、引き続き一員であり続けるべきだと述べた。その上で、北京が台湾の参加の有益性を理解するよう望む米国としての考えを示した。

フランス国民議会のエリック・ボトレル議員は22日、ツイッターで、台湾で新型コロナウイルスによる肺炎の患者が初確認されたことを報じたフィガロ紙の記事を紹介し、「われわれはいつまで台湾からWHOの席を奪うのか。現状からみると、台湾が少なくともオブザーバーとしての身分を取り戻すことは切実な問題だ」と台湾がWHOに参加する必要性を訴えた。
