'White Lightning' sprinter breaks a 30-year-old national high school 100-meter dash record two weeks after going viral with the unofficial wind-aided mark of 9.98 seconds
Matthew Boling, a senior at Houston Strake Jesuit, ran a wind-legal time of 10.13 seconds at the Texas state high school track and field championships
He broke the National Federation of High Schools record of 10.15, which was set in 1990 by another Texan, Henry Neal of Austin Greenville High School
Last month, Boling went viral by running the race in a wind-aided 9.98 seconds
Boling has been called 'White Lighting' but said he's also heard 'bogeyman'
Boling also won the Texas boys 6A long jump title Saturday with a distance of 25 feet, 4.5 inches. He has signed a national letter of intent to compete for Georgia
He hopes to make it on the U.S. Olympic team ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics
