  • Issue is deeply personal to the Bidens, who lost son Beau to brain cancer in 2015

  • Harris lost her mother to colon cancer in 2009 
  • American Cancer Society estimates there will be 1,918,030 new cancer cases and 609,360 cancer deaths this yea
  • Meaning that Biden is essentially trying to save 300,000 lives annually
