リドル症候群は、1963年にLiddleによりはじめて報告された食塩感受性高血圧症である。低レニン低アルドステロン性高血圧、低カリウム血症、代謝性アルカローシスを特徴とする常染色体優性遺伝病である。アミロライド感受性上皮ナトリウムチャネル（epithelial Na channels、ENaC）の異常により発症する。
治療
アミロライド感受性上皮ナトリウムチャネルの機能を阻害するトリアムテレンとアミロライド（我が国では未発売）が有効である。同時に厳格な食塩制限も行う。
成人期以降の注意点
食塩制限、高血圧の治療を継続。高血圧による合併症に注意する。
