•  'Fires are going to burn longer. Heart attack victims are going to be laying on the floor longer,' FDNY Firefighter Association President Andrew Ansbro said 
• Across Staten Island and Brooklyn, mountains of trash have already started to pile up as sanitation workers protest the mandate

One third of US military is still unvaccinated: 468,000 active duty members have just one month to get the shot by mandate deadline or face the ax

•  About 468,000 – or 32 percent – of the military’s 1.46 million total employees weren’t fully inoculated Wednesday
• The latest figures were released ahead of the November 28 vaccine deadline for active-duty Navy and Marines
• Among the active-duty force, 97 per cent of troops have received at least one shot and 87 per cent are fully vaccinated
• There have been 383,560 coronavirus cases and 578 deaths in the military community since the start of the coronavirus pandemic

Biden backs down over vaccine mandate deadline for contactors: White House says December 8 cut off 'is not a cliff' and unvaccinated workers will be offered education before enforcement

• White House coronavirus coordinator Jeffrey Zients said that Biden's December 8 vaccine deadline for contractors is 'not a cliff' at a press briefing
•  The flexibility means that employers will not have to fire unvaccinated employees in two month's time
• Instead of immediate lay-offs Zients said that there will be time for education, counseling and other measures before potentially ending employment 
• Prior to the press briefing millions of workers were left believing they'd be jobless come December 9 unless they got a religious or medical exemption 
• Nationwide, about 191million Americans have been fully vaccinated - nearly 58 percent of the population
